Fourteenth meeting of the Conference of the
Parties
The
14th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to CITES (CoP14) was
declared on 3 June 2007 by the CITES Secretary-General, Mr Willem
Wijnstekers, following the opening addresses
by the Minister of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, Ms Gerda
Verburgafternoon, the Deputy Mayor of The Hague, Mr Rabin Baldewsingh,
the Deputy Executive Director of UNEP, Mr Shafqat Kakakhel and the
Chairman of the CITES Standing Committee, Mr Cristián Maquieira.
The meeting is being held from 3 to 15 June 2007, at the following
opening address:

Working documents, in-session
documents, proposals
to amend Appendices I and II and the comments
from the Parties and comments and recommendations from the Secretariat
on amendment proposals are available on this site. The summary
reports of each session of the meeting are being put on this
site as they become available.
The meeting was preceded by the seventh dialogue meeting of the
African elephant range States and the 55th
meeting of the CITES Standing Committee. A ministerial meeting
will be organized by the host country during the course of CoP14.
