The 175th Party: Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Secretariat is pleased to welcome Bosnia and Herzegovina as the 175th Party to CITES.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is situated in southeastern Europe, bordering Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro which are all party to the Convention.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is home to nearly 90 species listed in the CITES Appendices, in particular many species of orchids and birds of prey. CITES trade with Bosnia and Herzegovina comprises mainly medicinal plants (export) and reptile leather products (import).

The Convention will enter into force in Bosnia and Herzegovina on 21 April 2009.
