Dr Malan Lindeque ceased to be Chief of the Scientific Support
Unit of the CITES Secretariat from 31 January 2003. He has been
appointed as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment
and Tourism of Namibia. The Secretariat considers Malan's departure
as a loss for both the Secretariat and the Parties. In the meantime,
we congratulate him for his new and prominent career, and we are
happy that he will be reunited with his family.
