CONCERNING:

BURUNDI

Suspension of the Issue of Export and Re-export Documents

for Psittacus erithacus

1. The Management Authority of Burundi, in order to protect its endangered population of Psittacus erithacus and to contribute to the protection of the species in its neighbouring countries, has decided to suspend for an indeterminate period the issuance of export permits and re-export certificates for specimens of that species.

2. Any CITES document for specimens of that species issued or allegedly issued by Burundi should be communicated to the Management Authority of that country for authentication, directly or via the Secretariat, before being accepted.
