CONCERNING:
SPECIMENS IN TRAVELLING EXHIBITIONS
Implementation of Resolution Conf. 8.16
1. At the request of the Chairman of the Animals Committee, the Secretariat is drawing the attention of all Parties to the above-mentioned Resolution, in particular paragraphs d) and e), and the need for travelling exhibitions that contain specimens of CITES-listed species to retain relevant pre-Convention certificates and certificates of captive-breeding as documents valid for movements across international borders.
2. The Parties are therefore requested to advise their Customs authorities or other appropriate authorities to ensure that these documents are NOT collected when such exhibitions enter their countries.
