CONCERNING:


                             BURUNDI

           Suspension of the Export of Reptile Species


1.The  Management  Authority of Burundi, in order to  protect  its
  natural  heritage, in particular its animal species  excessively
  required in trade, has decided to stop any export for commercial
  purposes  of  reptile  species  from  Burundi,  effective   from
  November 1992.

2.Any  CITES  document for specimens of those  species  issued  or
  allegedly  issued  by  Burundi should  be  communicated  to  the
  Management  Authority  of  that  country  for  authentification,
  directly or via the Secretariat, before being accepted.
