CONCERNING:


                              ZAIRE

           Suspension of the Issuance of Export Permits


1.By  letter  dated 30 October 1992, the Management  Authority  of
  Zaire  informed the Secretariat that, from that date, it was  in
  the obligation to suspend the issuance of export permits for all
  species of wild fauna.

  That  measure  has  been taken by the ministry responsible,  the
  MinistŠre  de l'Environnement et Conservation de la  Nature,  to
  allow for the finalization and implementation of the Ministerial
  Decree  on Enforcement Measures of the Law No. 82-002 of 28  May
  1982  regarding  the Regulation of Hunting in  the  Republic  of
  Zaire.

2.The  Parties  are  invited to take the  above  information  into
  account  and  not  to accept any export permit  from  Zaire  for
  species of wild fauna until further notice.
