CONCERNING:


                  Move of the CITES Secretariat


1.Following  the decision of the Executive Director of  UNEP,  the
  CITES Secretariat will move to new premises in Geneva between 10
  and 14 May 1993. The procedure will be as follows:

     a.    the  Secretariat's present premises  will  remain  open
     until 7 May 1993;

     b.    the Secretariat will be closed from Monday 10 May  1993
     until  Friday 21 May to allow for the physical move  and  re-
     installation;

     c.    the  Secretariat will resume its activities in its  new
     location on Monday 24 May 1993.

2.Regarding  the confirmation of the validity of CITES  documents,
  the  Parties  are kindly requested, during the period  indicated
  under   1.b),  to  refer  directly  to  the  issuing  Management
  Authority,   unless  the  latter  has  informed  the   importing
  countries of the permits issued.

3.Details of the new location of the Secretariat are as follows:
