                            ARGENTINA

              1993 Export Quotas for Psittaciformes


1.By  Resolution 6/93, the CITES Management Authority of Argentina
  has  established the following export quotas for parrot  species
  in 1993:

          Pionus maximiliani               4,000
          Nandayus (Aratinga) nenday       6,400
          Aratinga acuticaudata            8,000
          Myiopsitta monachus             24,000
          Cyanoliseus patagonus            7,200

2. By the same Resolution, the export of the following species was
   banned:

          Aratinga leucophthalmus
          Pyrrhura frontalis
          Pyrrhura molinae
          Aratinga mitrata

   The  export,  under  the  1992 quotas, of  specimens  of  these
   species  duly registered with the Management Authority,  should
   have taken place before 31 March 1993.

3. The   Parties  are  invited  to  co-operate  with   the   CITES
   Authorities of Argentina in the control of these quotas and  in
   the  prohibition of export of the species mentioned under  item
   2.
