CONCERNING:


  Review by IUCN of Proposals to Amend CITES Appendices I and II


1.The  Secretariat is pleased to send to the Parties the  attached
  letter  from  the  Director  General  of  IUCN,  which  is  self
  explanatory.

2.The Secretariat takes this opportunity to thank IUCN for all the
  work  that  it  has  done  in  the past  to  provide  scientific
  information   and  advice  regarding  proposed   amendments   to
  Appendices I and II.

3.The  Secretariat  urges the Parties to thoroughly  consider  the
  questionnaire attached to the IUCN Director General's letter and
  to answer it as soon as possible, preferably before 30 May 1993.
