          Criteria for Amendment of Appendices I and II


The  Secretariat  communicates to the Parties the enclosed  letter
from  the Chairman of the Standing Committee, the draft resolution
prepared at the joint meeting of the Standing, Animals and  Plants
Committees, and the summary report of that joint meeting.

The  Parties are invited to consider carefully these documents and
to provide their comments on the draft resolution by the suggested
deadline.
