No. 795 Geneva, 21 April 1994 CONCERNING: COLOMBIA New CITES Export Permits 1.With Notification to the Parties No. 793, of 10 March 1994, the Secretariat communicated to the Parties copies of the new CITES permit forms used by Colombia for the export of animals (No. CO/A/000) and plants (No. CO/P/000), printed on security paper of chestnut colour. 2.Due to an error made by the transport company, the forms for animals were sent to an Asian country and the Secretariat has so far been unable to retrieve them. 3.In agreement with the Management Authority of Colombia, the Secretariat asked for the printing of new CITES export permit forms for animals. These new forms are printed on light blue security paper and bear in block 6 the words: Ministerio del Medio Ambiente Carrera 10 N0 20-30 piso 50 Santa F‚ de Bogot , D.C. COLOMBIA. In addition, the INDERENA logo, which appeared on the lost permits, has been deleted from the new ones. The new forms are numbered from CO/A/2501 to CO/A/4500. A copy of the new form is enclosed with this Notification. 4.Consequently, no permit for animals from Colombia should be considered as valid if it is not in conformity with the attached model, unless it is in conformity with the model sent with Notification to the Parties No. 793 and bears a number between CO/A/0001 and CO/A/0100. 5.The permit form for plants, a copy of which was sent with Notification to the Parties No. 793 of 10 March 1994, remains valid. 6.The Secretariat re-emphasizes its recommendation to Parties to verify the validity of Colombian permits with the Secretariat.
