CONCERNING:


          Registration of a Captive-breeding Operation


1.The  Management Authority of Cuba has approved the  application
  of   a  captive-breeding  operation  and,  in  accordance  with
  Resolution  Conf. 8.15 Annex 2, has applied to the  Secretariat
  for  the  registration of this operation in  the  "Register  of
  Operations   Breeding  Specimens  of  Appendix-I   Species   in
  Captivity for Commercial Purposes".

2.The operation under consideration is the following:

     Zoocriadero de la Ci‚naga de Zapata
     Departamento de Cr¡a Experimental del
     Ministerio de la Industria Pesquera
      Barlovento + Santa F‚
      La Habana

     Species bred: Crocodylus rhombifer

3.As  the  above  operation  breeds a  species  not  yet  on  the
  Secretariat's  Register, the Secretariat,  in  accordance  with
  Resolution Conf. 8.15 Annex 3, has referred the application  to
  appropriate   experts  for  advice  on  its   suitability.   In
  addition,  the  Secretariat is notifying  the  Parties  of  the
  application  and  will  supply copies to Parties  that  enquire
  about it.

4.Those  Parties  which  want to comment  on  or  object  to  the
  registration  of  the  operation must  arrange  to  have  their
  comments  or  objections received by the Secretariat  within  a
  120-day  period, i.e. before 8 October 1994. After  that  date,
  the   Secretariat  will  follow  the  procedure  described   in
  Resolution Conf. 8.15 Annex 3.
