CONCERNING:


                                                "The
Birds of CITES"


1.   Mr Johannes Erritzçe has written a book on the birds
included in the CITES appendices, with
     a foreword by H.R.H. Prince Philip, President of WWF
International. The work includes a
     description of each species of bird currently listed
in the appendices, and illustrations, most of
     them in colour. It is thus a very useful tool for
the officers in charge of shipment controls.

2.   The Aage V. Jensen Charity Foundation (Denmark) has
sent to the Secretariat a large number
     of copies of this work for distribution to the
Parties, especially for the developing countries.

     The Secretariat express its deep gratitude to the
Consul General Thorskild Erritzçe, who made
     this possible, and to the Aage V. Jensen Charity
Foundation for its generous contribution to help
     improve implementation of the Convention.

3.   Under separate cover, the Secretariat is sending one
copy of this work to each Party. Additional
     copies, depending on their availability, will be
provided free of charge by the Secretariat to
     developing countries, upon request, for their
Inspection, Customs or Police Services.

4.   The other Parties may purchase additional copies
from the Secretariat at the following prices:
