Notification to the Parties

CONCERNING:

CHILE

Pre-Convention Stocks of Alerce Fitzroya cupressoides

1. The Management Authority of Chile has informed the Secretariat that it has carefully investigated the currently available stocks of wood of Fitzroya cupressoides in order to determine whether these stocks can be considered "pre-Convention specimens" as this term is defined in Resolution Conf. 5.11.

2. The Management Authority of Chile has informed the Secretariat that only the following enterprises hold stocks of wood of Fitzroya cupressoides meeting that definition for Chile:

- Forestal Valvidia Ltda.
- Victor Schmidt V.
- Soc. Agr. y Maderera Lenca Ltda.

3. The Management Authority of Chile has therefore asked the Secretariat to request the Parties not to accept any permits issued for the export of pre-Convention wood of Fitzroya cupressoides other than those issued to the enterprises specified above.
