No. 931 Geneva, 4 September 1996 CONCERNING: PERU Trade in Plants 1.The Management Authority of Peru has informed the Secretariat that the export for commercial purposes of plants of species listed in CITES Appendix II is only authorized in the case of artificially propagated specimens of the families Cactaceae and Orchidaceae. Wild-collected cacti and orchids may only be exported for scientific purposes, and the collecting of such plants is strictly regulated. 2.All Parties to the Convention are urged to confirm with the Management Authority of Peru, or the Secretariat, the authenticity of any export permit for cacti and orchids when they have any doubt about its validity. 3.This Notification replaces Notification to the Parties No. 646 of 28 August 1991.
