CONCERNING:
Marking of Specimens of Sturgeon Exported from China
1. The Secretariat transmits to the Parties herewith details of the label used by China for the marking of specimens of sturgeon, in particular caviar, for export.
2. The labels are self-adhesive and are in the form of a hologram, each of which is elliptical in shape. The long axis is 3 cm and the short axis is 2 cm. In the background of the hologram is the CITES logo with the letters "CNMA" underneath (the abbreviation of CITES Management Authority of China). The foreground of each hologram comprises four items of text:
first line - "Amur Sturgeon Caviare" or Kaluga Sturgeon Caviare" (the name of the product) second line - "Acipenser schrenckii" or "Huso dauricus" (the scientific name of the specimen) third line - "From Heilongjiang River" (the basin of origin)
followed by "P.R.China" (abbreviation of People's Republic of China, the country of origin)fourth line - "051150006" or "051150008" (the code of Amur Sturgeon or Kaluga Sturgeon [Classification and Codes of Chinese Fauna (Vertebrates Part)] formulated by State Bureau of Technical Supervision of China)
followed by "CN" (the two-letter ISO code for China)
