Notification to the Parties

CONCERNING:

Control of trade in caviar from the Russian Federation

1. This Notification is a continuation of Notification to the Parties No. 1998/39.

2. Pursuant to Resolution Conf. 10.12, the Management Authority of the Russian Federation has informed the Secretariat of an additional caviar producer to be added to the list of authorized exporters, as follows:

RUSSIAN FEDERATION.

3. The Secretariat has received colour photographs of the labelled container used by this company to export caviar. It appears in black and white on the page attached to this Notification and can be provided in colour to Parties that request it for enforcement purposes.

On the base of the tin is a mark comprising two lines of characters.
The first line gives the date of production comprising four numerals in the following format:
- one digit indicating the number of the decade
- two digits indicating the month
- one digit, being the last figure of the year.
The second line contains the 'master number'.

On the side of the tin is a one-letter code indicating the type of caviar: O - Ossetra, - Beluga, C - Sevruga.
