CONCERNING:

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Ban on trade in Strombus gigas

1. Through Decree No. 269-99 of the President of the Republic, the Dominican Republic has established a closed season for Strombus gigas from 1 July to 31 October of each year.

2. During this period all trade in meat of this species is prohibited.

3. The Dominican Republic seeks the co-operation of all Parties to implement this measure by not permitting any trade in specimens of this species originating in the Dominican Republic during the above-mentioned period.
