Notification to the Parties

CONCERNING:

Regional representation in the Standing Committee

1. Decision 10.3 of the Conference of the Parties provides guidelines regarding the selection of regional members and alternate regional members of the Standing Committee.

2. These guidelines specify that any Party that wishes to submit its candidature for selection as a regional representative to the Standing Committee should do so at least 120 days before a meeting of the Conference of the Parties, that is before 11 December 1999 in the case of candidates to be considered during the 11th meeting of the Conference of the Parties.

3. As specified in the guidelines, the Secretariat will communicate to the Parties of each region the candidatures for that region that it receives before the deadline.
