Notification to the Parties

CONCERNING:

Regional representation in the Animals and Plants Committee

1. Decision 10.4 provides guidelines for the election of regional representatives to the Animals and Plants Committees.

2. These guidelines specify that the names of proposed candidates, and their curricula vitae, should be circulated to the Parties of the region concerned at least 120 days before the meeting of the Conference of the Parties, that is before 11 December 1999 for candidates to be considered at the 11th meeting of the Conference of the Parties.

3. The Secretariat will gladly assist the Parties by distributing the information referred to in the above paragraph.

4. In order to be able to do this in a timely manner, the Secretariat requests Parties that wish to propose persons as candidates for regional representatives to the Animals or Plants Committee to provide it with the information referred to in paragraph 2 above not later than 15 November 1999.
