Notification to the PartiesNo. 1999/94 Geneva, 30 November 1999
CONCERNING:
Conservation of and illicit trade in tiger specimens
1. At its 42nd meeting, the Standing Committee reviewed the report of the CITES Tiger Missions Technical Team and agreed a number of actions regarding conservation of tiger. One of these was that, pursuant to Decision 10.66 b), the members of the political missions and the Secretariat should prepare an overview for the Conference of the Parties, including a draft action plan, to assist in developing strategies for improving control of trade in specimens of tiger and related activities. Contributions to the plan should be sought from all tiger range and significant consumer States (and not only the States visited). The plan should focus on costed priorities falling within the scope of the Convention.

3. To assist interested Parties to formulate suggestions, the report of the technical missions (Doc. SC.42.10.4) is available on the CITES Web site (http://www.cites.org).
