CONCERNING:

CHILE

Pre-Convention stocks of alerce (Fitzroya cupressoides)


1. This Notification replaces Notification to the Parties No. 886 of 30 November 1995.

2. The Management Authority of Chile has informed the Secretariat that it has evaluated the current stocks of wood of Fitzroya cupressoides considered as pre-Convention, and the enterprises holding these stocks as mentioned in Notification to the Parties No. 886.

3. Only the following enterprises in Chile hold pre-Convention stocks:

- Victor Schmidt V. - 1,220.2 "pulgadas madereras" *

- Sociedad Agrícola y Maderera Lenca Ltda - 7,483.2 "pulgadas madereras" *

- Comercial e Inversiones Columbia Ltda.- 28,970.0 "pulgadas madereras" *

4. The Management Authority of Chile requests the Parties not to accept any permits issued for the export of pre-Convention wood of Fitzroya cupressoides except permits issued to the enterprises specified above.
