Canada
Export/Import/Re-export permit/certificate

– New

– Printed electronically on off-white security paper. This computer-generated permit will eventually replace all other permits/certificates. The type of document will be shown in the top right hand box (i.e. export/import permit/re-export certificate/ temporary import/re-export certificate etc.). Canada will still be issuing Export Permits and Re-export Certificates using a combined application and permit form (number CITES Form 2-10/2000) which replaces the previous form (number EXT 1620-01/94). Customs copies number 1 and 2 of the form are also printed on off-white security paper

– The Management Authority of Canada has asked that Parties continue to accept previous permits/certificates up to the following dates:

a) CITES Import permits up to 1 October 2001;

b) CITES Export permits authorizing single shipments up to 31 December 2001;

c) CITES Export permits authorizing multiple shipments up to 1 July 2002; and

d) CITES Temporary Import/Re-export Certificates and Temporary Export/Re-import Certificates authorizing the Movement of Circus Animals and Personal Pets and CITES Scientific Certificates (which are valid for 3 years) up to 1 July 2004
