CONCERNING:
Control of operations that breed Appendix-I species
in captivity for commercial purposes1. The Secretariat intends to include the attached information, concerning a captive-breeding operation in Canada, in the Register of operations that breed Appendix-I species in captivity for commercial purposes. This operation breeds a species that is already included in the Secretariat’s Register.
2. The Management Authority of South Africa has approved an application to register a captive-breeding operation of a species that is not yet included in the Secretariat's Register. In accordance with Resolution Conf. 11.14, Annex 2, paragraph 2, the Secretariat has referred the application to members of the Animals Committee and appropriate experts for advice. The operation under consideration is the following:

3. In accordance with the provisions of Resolution Conf. 11.14, Annex 2, paragraph 1, b) the Secretariat will provide full information on the operations referred to in paragraphs 1 and 2 above to any Party that requests it (in the language in which the applications were provided).
4. In accordance with the provisions of Resolution Conf. 11.14, Annex 2, paragraph 3, the operation listed in the attachment to this Notification will be included in the Register 90 days after the date of this Notification unless the Secretariat receives an objection from a Party and such objection is not withdrawn within this time.
