Implementation of Resolution Conf. 11.13
Universal labelling system for the identification of caviar1. The CITES Management Authority of Romania has advised the Secretariat that all caviar exports from Romania will be labelled in accordance with Resolution Conf. 11.13 (Universal labelling system for the identification of caviar). For example:

2. In the above example, F-328 is the number of the approved caviar producer and 5:1 indicates this is fish number 5 from box number 1.
3. Each CITES export permit will have an annex attached giving details of the labels used. The ‘special conditions’ box of each export permit will give details of the number of pages attached as annexes. Each annex will be signed and stamped by the exporting company and the Management Authority.
4. Examples of the labels used by production and exporting companies and other packing information are being distributed as annexes to this Notification.
Annex 1
S.C. Black Sea Caviar SRL
Primary containers have a coloured, circular label, with a diameter of 75 mm, attached to the top of the container. Labels providing the information required by Resolution Conf. 11.13 are placed on the bottom of the primary container. These labels are printed in black and white and measure 21.2 x 52.5 mm. An additional label, providing details of the maximum tin content and the weight at time of export, will also be attached to the bottom of the container.
Secondary containers have a label measuring 105 x 148.5 mm attached. These labels include information relating to the primary containers within and the number of the export permit. An additional label, measuring 297 x 210 mm, provides details of the destination, export permit number, air waybill number, producer’s reference number, advice regarding transportation and storage, the number of the secondary container, and the total number of secondary containers in the shipment.
Annex 2
S.C. Daniro Overseas Trading SRL
Primary containers have a square label, printed in black and white, measuring 50 x 50 mm, which contains the information required by Resolution Conf. 11.13.
Secondary containers have a rectangular label, printed in black and white, measuring 270 x 90 mm. These labels include information relating to the primary containers within, the number of the secondary container (referred to as the pack number) and the number of the export permit.
Annex 3
S.C. Kaviar House SRL
Primary containers have a coloured, circular label, with a diameter of 50 or 114 mm (depending on the size of the tin) attached to the top of the container. Labels providing the information required by Resolution Conf. 11.13 are placed on the bottom of the primary container. These labels are printed in black and white and measure 35 x 17 mm or 64.6 x 33.8 mm (depending on the size of the tin).
Secondary containers have a rectangular label, printed in black and white, measuring 105 x 148 mm. These labels include information relating to the primary containers within and details of the importer.
Annex 4
S.C. Kana Co SRL
Primary containers have a coloured, circular label, with a diameter of 70 or 90 mm (depending on whether the tin contains 125 or 250 g) attached to the top of the container. Labels providing the information required by Resolution Conf. 11.13 are placed on the bottom of 250 g containers only. These labels are printed in black and white and measure 60 x 10 mm.
Secondary containers have a plastic envelope affixed, which contains the number of the secondary container and information relating to the primary containers within.
Annex 5
S.C. MJ import Export SRL
Primary containers have a coloured, circular label, with a diameter of 100 or 150 mm (depending on the size of the tin) attached to the top of the container. Labels providing the information required by Resolution Conf. 11.13 are placed on the bottom of the primary container. These labels are printed in black and white and measure 50 x 30 mm.
Secondary containers have a rectangular label, printed in black and white, measuring 140 x 75 mm. These labels include information regarding the importer and the secondary container number.
Annex 6
S.C Miadmar SRL
This company shares production facilities with other companies and, therefore, uses the same reference number: F-326.
Primary containers have a rectangular label, printed in black and white, measuring 90 x 6 mm, which contains the information required by Resolution Conf. 11.13.
Secondary containers have a rectangular label, printed in black and white, measuring 210 x 140 mm. The label includes the number of the secondary container and information relating to the primary containers within.
Annex 7
Geo’s Trading SRL
This company shares production facilities with other companies and, therefore, uses the same reference number: F-326.
Primary containers have a rectangular label, printed in black and white, measuring 52.5 x 29.7 mm, which contains the information required by Resolution Conf. 11.13.
Secondary containers have a rectangular label, printed in black and white, measuring 210 x 297 mm. The label includes the number of the secondary container (referred to as the box number), information relating to the primary containers within, transport information, and importer details.
Annex 8
The Mermaid Caviar Company SRL
This company shares production facilities with other companies and, therefore, uses the same reference number: F-326.
All primary containers are for either 50 or 100 g of caviar and, consequently, do not have labels providing the information referred to in Resolution Conf. 11.13. However, primary containers have a coloured, circular label, with a diameter of 50 or 75 mm (depending on the size of the tin) attached to the top of the container. A black and white label, providing storage advice, measuring 50 or 75 mm (depending on the size of the tin), is attached to the bottom.
Secondary containers have a label (further details not known) providing information relating to the primary containers within and giving the information required by Resolution Conf. 11.13.
