Notification to the Parties

CONCERNING:

Export quotas for 2002

1. In accordance with paragraph i), under "RECOMMENDS" of section II of Resolution Conf. 10.2 (Rev.), several Parties have communicated to the Secretariat export quotas that they have established for the calendar year 2002. All these export quotas, including catch and export quotas for Acipenseriformes, will be communicated in a Notification to the Parties in the forthcoming months.

2. However, export quotas for raw elephant ivory have been communicated separately in Notification to the Parties No. 2002/011 of 6 March 2002 in compliance with Resolution Conf. 10.10 (Rev.).

3. The Secretariat is establishing a section for quotas on its website where current and future export quotas will be published as soon as they are received and, where necessary, verified. This should facilitate the rapid dissemination of, and access to, the latest quota information.

4. After having published the Notification to the Parties referred to in paragraph 1, the Secretariat will no longer publish quotas in Notifications to the Parties. Information on export quotas will only be available from and communicated through the Secretariat’s website.
