CONCERNING:

MALAWI AND ZAMBIA

Suspension of import of leopard hunting trophies and skins

1. Resolution Conf. 10.14 (Quotas for leopard hunting trophies and skins for personal use) directs the Secretariat to recommend to the Parties to suspend imports of leopard hunting trophies and skins from any country that is granted an annual quota under the Resolution and that has not met the reporting requirement, after checking with the range State concerned that the report has not been submitted.

2. Despite having been sent reminders by the Secretariat, Malawi has not submitted reports for the years 2000 and 2001 and Zambia has not submitted a report for the year 2001.

3. The Secretariat consequently recommends that Parties suspend imports of leopard hunting trophies and skins from Malawi and Zambia until further notice.
