Notification to the Parties

CONCERNING:

Appendix III

1.	In accordance with the provisions of paragraph 1 of Article XVI of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, the Government of Costa Rica has requested the Secretariat to include the following species in Appendix III:
	F L O R A
	LEGUMINOSAE (FABACEAE)	Dipteryx panamensis
2.	In accordance with the provisions of Article XVI, paragraph 2, of the Convention, inclusion of this species in Appendix III shall take effect 90 days after the date of this Notification, i.e. on 13 February 2003.
3.	In accordance with the provisions of Article XVI, paragraph 3, of the Convention, the Government of Honduras has requested the Secretariat to withdraw the following species from Appendix III of the Convention.

	REPTILIA
	SERPENTES
	Viperidae	Agkistrodon bilineatus Atropoides nummifer Bothriechis schlegelii Bothrops asper Porthidium nasutum Porthidium ophryomegas.
4.	In accordance with the provisions of Article XVI, paragraph 3, of the Convention, deletion of these species from Appendix III shall take effect 30 days after the date of this Notification, i.e. on 15 December 2002.
5.	A revised edition of Appendix III valid from 13 February 2003 is attached to the present Notification.
