No. 2003/082
Geneva, 16 December 2003

Notification to the Parties

CONCERNING:

Implementation of Resolution Conf. 10.20

1. In Resolution Conf. 10.20 on Frequent cross-border movements of personally owned live animals, paragraph b), the Conference of the Parties recommends that:

although any Party may issue a certificate of ownership to the personal owner of a legally acquired live animal who wishes to travel to other States with the animal as a personal or household effect, it should do so only after agreement between the Parties concerned…

2. In order to facilitate the implementation of this Resolution, the Secretariat intends to create a list of Parties in three parts:

a) Parties that accept certificates of ownership issued by any other Party in accordance with Resolution Conf. 10.20;

b) Parties that accept certificates of ownership issued by certain Parties only, with an indication of what those latter Parties are; and

c) Parties that do not accept certificates of ownership.

3. Parties are therefore invited to inform the Secretariat of which of the above three categories applies to them and, in case b) above, to provide the list of Parties they have agreed to accept certificates of ownership from.

4. The Secretariat will distribute this list through regular Notifications to the Parties and also make it available on its website.
